Mould Removal Singapore Services

We are a mould removal and remediation service company that has helped more than a thousand happy homeowners. We use safe and effective methods that remove mould at the source. We also provide surface restoration through the application of anti-mould sealants and paint, and mould prevention through ventilation system installation and replacement.

Why choose our mould remediation services?

We take care of the whole mould removal process from start to finish, and we have helped more than a thousand happy customers. There are many mould remediation companies around, but most of them cannot help you beyond treating the mould.

When you engage one of these other options, you will have to find a second or even third contractor to help you paint your surfaces, install ventilation fans, and so on. Choose us to make the complicated things easy. Plus, you will have the peace of mind knowing that you are working with a mould contractor that has done it before for many homeowners like you.

How our mould removal process works

Mould is complicated and can be the result of many internal and external factors, so our solutions are not one-size-fits-all. We work with our customers to understand how mould affects their property and create personalised mould remediation plans that tackle each factor. Our mould remediation service is usually split into the three following parts:

Mould assessment

We start the mould removal process with an online assessment through a simple phone (or WhatsApp) conversation that takes no more than 15 short minutes. We will ask you about the problem you are facing and ask you to share a video of the affected areas in your property. You can think about this like a doctor’s consultation, but without the charges.

With the information that we gather at this stage, we will draft a mould remediation plan that includes the price broken down into specific deliverables. We create this plan based on what we have learnt through the work we have completed for more than a thousand happy customers.

If the mould growth in your property is concentrated in one area, such as the bathroom, the mould remediation plan that we generate based on our online assessment should cover all that you need. An on-site assessment by a mould inspector would not be necessary. We do not wish to waste your time with multiple appointments if we only need one for the mould removal.

Mould removal

When you accept the mould remediation plan, we then work together to book an available day and time that works with your schedule. We usually provide you with a two-hour window for our arrival on the day of the mould removal. We might also need you to help us with some preparatory actions before our arrival.

We will come ready with the necessary parts and equipment to carry out the mould removal and first confirm that the scope of work included in the mould remediation plan matches up with the type and intensity of mould growth at your property.

Then we get right to work to remove the mould in your home, and in some cases, also restore your surfaces through painting with our choice anti-mould paint and sealant. This takes anywhere between two hours to two or more days, depending on the severity of the mould growth and how large the scope is. The remediation timeline will be included in the remediation draft and can be discussed.

Mould prevention

Now that the mould growth has been removed from your property, we move on to the next and most important step: Making sure that mould stays away from your property. Because who wants spends money removing mould to take care of their health only to have it come back to harm again?

There are a lot of mould prevention methods, and the one that is chosen for your property depends on how the mould grew and spread. For some customers, this might mean us educating you or your helper on how you can apply our safe mould control formula every few months to maintain a surface that resists mould growth. For other customers, we might help the installation or replacement of ventilation systems such as window-mounted or inline ventilation fans. It depends on the remediation plan.

How much mould removal costs

Our mould removal prices start at $400 for mild to moderate mould removal in small spaces and $1,500 for severe mould removal in larger spaces. But the price you receive when you contact us for no-charge mould removal quotation can be anywhere in between that number, higher, or even lower. And this is because there are too many factors that can cause mould growth, and just as many methods to remediate mould growth. There is no one fixed price for every customer. So before you plan your budget, I recommend that you speak with one of our friendly mould advisors. They can provide you with a more accurate price as well as a rough mould remediation plan. This will not take up too much of your time and can be done online. And once again, it costs you nothing.

How to book a mould removal

Becoming mould-free is straightforward and easy when you choose us. Reach out to us through a phone call or our online contact form. Our friendly mould advisors will then speak with you to understand the mould situation in your home. We might need a photo or video to help us paint the full picture.

Following the conversation, we will provide you with a remediation plan along with a quotation for the necessary services. We can explain the plan to you over the phone if that would help you understand it better. Once you have accepted the plan, as mentioned in our section about our mould removal process above, we arrange a day and time for the mould removal and prevention. Then you’re mould-free!

How to know if you have mould

Mould is not always easy to spot, and can be hidden within carpentry or behind furnishing. Some of our customers were not sure that they had a mould problem until we came down for a mould inspection, and it is completely understandable. But there are a few common signs you can look out for such as a musty odour, visible coloured areas on surfaces, or an increase in allergy symptoms in certain areas. Continue reading below for a short explainer of the different signs, or you can read our mould inspection guide for more detailed instructions.

Musty and earthy odours

One of the tell-tale signs of mould is a persistent musty or earthy smell. Mould spores release microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs) into the air which are responsible for the unpleasant odour. If you notice a musty smell, especially in areas prone to moisture like the bathroom, kitchen, or within cabinets, it is a strong indicator of a mould issue. While not all moulds produce a noticeable odour, a persistent musty smell tells you that it is time to check for mould.

Coloured patches on surfaces

Mould appears in a variety of colours including black, white, green, or even pink and orange, depending on the type and the surface it is growing on. It often appears as irregular spots or streaks on walls, ceilings, or flooring. It may resemble soot, dirt, or staining initially which can be deceptive. If you observe discolouration that wasn’t present before, or is expanding over time, particularly in damp areas, it is a sign that mould may be present. I would recommend you to address these at earliest possible to stop further mould growth and damage to your home and health.

Allergy symptoms

Mould exposure can trigger allergic reactions and worsen symptoms in individuals who are sensitive to mould. Common reactions include sneezing, runny or blocked nose, itchy eyes, throat, or skin, and coughing or wheezing. If you or family members experience these symptoms more frequently or intensely when at home, it could be a sign of mould presence, even if the mould is not visible. Continuous exposure to mould can make asthma symptoms worse and lead to chronic respiratory issues over your lifetime.

Why you should remove mould

Mould does not only look and smell bad, but it also leads to long term health problems over your lifetime, even if you do not have a mould allergy. Its impact can be more severe in developing children and the elderly especially if they are exposed to mould for a long time. Long term mould exposure has been linked to persistent migraines and headaches, random muscle cramps, and lower overall stamina. More severe mould exposure can also lead to hair loss, weight gain, and light sensitivity.

Remember that mould affects most people in the long-term, so it is important to control mould exposure to keep your home a safe and healthy for you and your family. We make removing mould easy, but I understand that some people might not want to hire a professional. If you are one of those people, I would highly recommend that you carry out comprehensive research before you attempt to remove mould in your home. Some mould removal methods can lead to the inhalation of mould spores or cause mould to spread even further. And just yesterday, I read about how a fellow Singaporean created lethal chlorine gas by accident when they tried to clean mould with vinegar and bleach. Lucky they realised what they did in time.
