How our mould removal process works

We start the mould removal process with an online assessment through a simple phone (or WhatsApp) conversation that takes no more than 15 short minutes. If the mould growth in your property is concentrated in one area, such as the bathroom, the mould remediation plan that we generate based on our online assessment should cover all that you need. An on-site assessment by a mould inspector would not be necessary. We do not wish to waste your time with multiple appointments if we only need one for the mould removal.
Mould removal
When you accept the mould remediation plan, we then work together to book an available day and time that works with your schedule. We usually provide you with a two-hour window for our arrival on the day of the mould removal. We might also need you to help us with some preparatory actions before our arrival.
We will come ready with the necessary parts and equipment to carry out the mould removal and first confirm that the scope of work included in the mould remediation plan matches up with the type and intensity of mould growth at your property.
Then we get right to work to remove the mould in your home, and in some cases, also restore your surfaces through painting with our choice anti-mould paint and sealant. This takes anywhere between two hours to two or more days, depending on the severity of the mould growth and how large the scope is. The remediation timeline will be included in the remediation draft and can be discussed.

How to know if you have mould
Mould is not always easy to spot, and can be hidden within carpentry or behind furnishing. Musty and earthy odours
One of the tell-tale signs of mould is a persistent musty or earthy smell. Mould spores release microbial volatile organic compounds (MVOCs) into the air which are responsible for the unpleasant odour. If you notice a musty smell, especially in areas prone to moisture like the bathroom, kitchen, or within cabinets, it is a strong indicator of a mould issue. While not all moulds produce a noticeable odour, a persistent musty smell tells you that it is time to check for mould.
Coloured patches on surfaces
Mould appears in a variety of colours including black, white, green, or even pink and orange, depending on the type and the surface it is growing on. It often appears as irregular spots or streaks on walls, ceilings, or flooring. It may resemble soot, dirt, or staining initially which can be deceptive. If you observe discolouration that wasn’t present before, or is expanding over time, particularly in damp areas, it is a sign that mould may be present. Allergy symptoms
